Shooting Sessions with the Gun 6000

looking to get hundred's of shooting reps.....

Shooting Groups are forming in both Southwest Florida and Tampa for shooting workouts. Three Player groups are forming to work on shooting with high reps! Get up to 300 shoots per workout session. Each session is priced at $25 per player based on three players. You'll also have one of our coaches instructing you on proper technique, form and release points.

 

Video Shot Analysis

Starting in late August, Winning Ways SWFLA will offer video shot analysis for all level of players. Each player will have their shot filmed in a number of shooting situations, then Winning Ways coaching staff will perform a complete analysis! The player will receive a DVD after the session with an analysis of each shooting situation highlighting the opportunities for improvement! This is an outstanding way to correct any miscues in the shooting form. Most players are visual learners and this analysis can dramatically reduce the time it takes to correct flawed techniques. The Video Analysis is available in both Tampa and SWFLA, for more information please call Coach Nikki (727-403-1872)or Coach Tom (239-357-3020). Cost for video analysis is $95 which includes the DVD.

Middle School and High School Off-Season Workshops

These workshops will focus on advanced ball handling skills, shooting on the move, advanced footwork to create space, enhancing speed, quickness and jumping abilities through a dynamic workout and competitive group drills.

I have been watching more high school and junior basketball than ever, and I am worried about what I see.  The canary in the United States' basketball coal mine has not yet died, but it is starting to teeter on its perch.  

No reasonable basketball person can refute the fact that the fundamental skills of American players are slipping, and so is the American game.  I believe a primary reason is an increased emphasis on coaching the game, and a decreased emphasis on teaching our kids how to play the game.

Pete Newell, the legendary coach and teacher, has often said that basketball is "over-coached and under-taught".  He is absolutely right, and that is finally catching up with us, as is the rest of the basketball world.
